Bye Bye de la Pub 2023: It's time to vote!

On the evening of December 31, viewers tuned in to experience the Bye Bye 2023 and to discover the ads competing in the Bye Bye de la pub competition. Starting from January 1st to January 7th, the public is invited to cast their votes for their favourite ad campaign by visiting the competition's website at radio-Canada.ca/concours-byebye-pub-2023. Winners will be announced in the coming days.

The evening of December 31st remains the television event of the year in Quebec, with programs reaching millions of viewers. This year, the majority of New Year's Eve programs on ICI TÉLÉ on December 31 recorded preliminary stable or up audiences compared to 2022, and well above pre-pandemic results (2019) in all cases!

Here are some preliminary figures for the year-end shows

  • In terms of reach, the New Year's Eve programs reached a total of more than 5 million French-speaking Quebecers on December 31, 2023.*
  • Bye Bye 2023 broadcast on December 31 attracted a preliminary audience of 3,316,000 viewers (+2% over 2022) and captured 91% market share. Among adults 25-54, the program drew 1,193,000 viewers (92% market share).
  • The original broadcast of Infoman 2023, achieved excellent results with a preliminary audience of 2,750,000 (+15% over 2022) and controlled 81% (+4 points over 2022) of Quebec TV viewing. Among adults 25-54, the program attracted 998,000 viewers with a market share of 85%.
  • Broadcast earlier in the evening on December 31, viewers also tuned in for En direct du jour de l'An and À l'année prochaine which recorded preliminary audiences of 1,841,000 and 1,595,000 respectively.
