A month ago, Radio-Canada began providing listeners with an expanded audio offering and a personalized, engaging digital experience. The Radio-Canada OHdio app, a unique destination where users can find and explore the full range of Radio-Canada's radio, music and podcast content, has proved a hit with audiences, many of whom have made it part of their listening habits.
SPECTACULAR RESULTS
Since its launch on November 7, the new app has been a resounding success, generating over 50,000 new downloads and close to 115,000 updates of the old ICI PREMIÈRE app, for a total of 165,000 downloads.
The Radio-Canada OHdio app is used by an average of 83,000 digital listeners (devices) a week, a 92% increase over the ICI PREMIÈRE app in fall 2018, and traffic averages close to 325,000 visits per week. OHdio users are very engaged and spend an average of nearly four hours a week listening to audio content.
The app has two key objectives: to better promote the depth and breadth of Radio-Canada's audio content, and to enhance the offering of high-calibre podcasts. All our content is experiencing a jump in consumption, especially our podcasts (3,7 PLANÈTES and MA VERSION DES FAITS being the most popular) and ICI MUSIQUE Classique.
“The outstanding response generated by the new Radio-Canada OHdio app, its podcasts, and radio and music content reinforces the public broadcaster's leadership position in this market. Radio-Canada plans to continue expanding on these rich, varied offerings while staying on top of current trends in content consumption.”
